Special abilities ministry

Welcome to our special abilities ministry
We are one big Sterchi family - growing together in faith, worship, and community. We're committed to being a church where individuals with disabilities and their families are not just welcomed, but fully included. The accommodations we offer aren't about creating separation - they're about building connection. We're creating spaces where everyone can participate fully, belong deeply, and grow in their Christian journey. This is how we live out our mission:
To Know Jesus Intimately, Grow as a community of Jesus followers, and Go next door and around the world to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our heart
At The Church at Sterchi Hills, we believe every person is created in the image of God and brings unique gifts to the body of Christ. Our Special Abilities Ministry exists to ensure that individuals of all abilities - and their families - feel welcomed, supported, and encouraged in their walk with Christ. The Sterchi Sensory Service was thoughtfully designed to provide a worship experience with extra space, flexibility, and freedom - ideal for those who may find traditional settings overwhelming.
Whether you're visiting for the first time or looking for a church home, we want you to know that you are welcomed to worship with us!
worship that welcomes and connects

Sterchi Sensory Service on Sundays at 10:30am provides a calm, low stimulation space where individuals and/or families can engage in worship through a live-streamed service - ideal for those who may find traditional settings overwhelming. Family members may stay in the sensory service or join in the main worship center - confident their registered loved one is cared for and connected.

Sterchi Sidekicks are available for preschool to 5th grade in our Sterchi Kids wing during our 10:30am service, upon request. We can arrange for a trained Sidekick to support your child with disabilities, helping them feel included and connected in age-appropriate classes.

Trained volunteers are ready to welcome and support individuals in the Sensory Service or serve as a Sterchi Sidekick in our children's wing. Our volunteers have completed a background check and received specialized training to support individuals and disabilities - fostering growth, connection, and a sense of belonging.
