About Us
Vision Statement
We exist to lift high the name of Jesus, the supreme changer of all things. We exist to unconditionally offer the love of God to all people, both here and around the world. We are a community of believers joining together in obedience to the Great Commandment and a passionate pursuit of the Great Commission.
Our Mission

"I have become all things to all people, so that by all means I may save some" 1 Corinthians 9:22
What We Believe
Baptism
Baptism is a symbol for the believer’s death to sin, the burial of life, and the resurrection to walk in the newness of life in Christ Jesus. We believe baptism is an ordinance commanded by Jesus as a symbol and sign of the identification of a believer as a disciple or follower of Christ Jesus.
The Trinity
There is one and only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections. God is all powerful (omnipotent) and all knowing (omniscient); and ever present (omnipresent). His perfect knowledge extends to all things, past, present, and future, including the future decisions of His free creatures. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience. The eternal triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.
Communion
Communion is given as an opportunity to pause and remember what Christ has done for us in His death upon a cross for our sin. We ultimately affirm our belief in the bodily resurrection of Christ Jesus, His return to the earth and the resurrection of the saints. We observe communion on every 5th Sunday of the calendar year.
KNOWING
Knowing Jesus Intimately – Each member of the Church is personally responsible and accountable to Jesus Christ as Lord. The body of Christ includes all of the redeemed of all the ages, believers from every tribe, tongue, people, and nation.
GROWING
Personally:
The Church at Sterchi Hills is committed to seeing every believer grow personally to become a mature follower of Jesus who is committed to the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19-20) and the Great Commandment (Matt. 12:29-30).
Spiritually:
The church understands that the avenues and expressions of worship are diverse and opportunities to worship in every area should be provided. Worship expressions include but are not limited to– singing, praying, giving, meditating, hearing the Word, Baptism, and Communion.
We believe that every believer has been given spiritual gifts to function as an intricate and viable part of the Body of Christ, the Church. We’re dedicated to helping every believer discern the gifts of the Spirit and to walk freely in those gifts for the edification of the Body of Christ.
Numerically:
Importance and value is never determined by the size of the church of God, but by the size of God in the church. Numbers help us plan well for the future, be thankful for the growth, and monitor God’s handiwork in our midst.
Relationally:
As we grow larger numerically, it’s imperative that we grow smaller. We’re committed to providing ministries that foster community by encouraging relational connections. Every ministry is designed to provide opportunity to meet together, serve together, and build relationships together.
Faithfully:
Talent, Time, & Tithe. Every believer should find an area of service where they can apply the gifts God has given them. With our time, we should choose daily to give our days to the Lord for His purposes and His plan. Every member should give faithfully, sacrificially, and biblically of their financial resources to the work of the Lord’s church.
GOING
The Great Commission is to go and make disciples of Jesus around the world, and this begins at home. We begin the evangelism journey by leading our families to faith in the Lord Jesus. We then extend that effort to our local world.
